If there's one thing I fucking hate (and there are, in fact, quite a lot of things I fucking hate), it's Internet April Fool's pranks. You know what I'm talking about -- fake news stories, index pages replaced with something stupid, things like that. So far The Reg has the only half-funny one I've seen today, and the entire joke is "Matt Drudge is an unreliable scandalmonger. Also, he's gay."

But you know what does make a good April Fool's Day event? The return of the KateStory. I've spent the better part of a week converting the old pages into decent HTML, and gave the KateStory its very own page. And now, there's a new one going on in Pyoko-land.

Taking a moment to actually take this "political blog" idea seriously, I've put together another politically-themed mini-Stream. Part personal anecdote and part rant, all ass-whoopin'.

Courtesy of Jon Gardner, pictured here as Ronald McDonald. And congratulations to Jon on graduating. No more finals for him.

Well, it's that time again -- the weather is gorgeous (at least until the next freak hailstorm), and riding a bike across campus is like sex. And we all know what that means: it's time to split town and go back to the sweltering hellhole I call home.

Four years down, one semester to go. But next semester should be pure unadulterated awesome, in no small part because I will be rooming with Ian, pictured here with me and Ronald McDonald.

I've been listening to Janeane Garofalo and Sam Seder's Majority Report on the new Air America Radio. I try to listen to Al Franken in the morning, too, but generally only have a few minutes before I have to get to class.

Anyway. It has occurred to me that Kos seems to be on the show like twice a week. So to that end, I have decided to turn this site into a political blog and say controversial things about dead mercenaries. This is part of my scheme to get rich and famous, and part of my larger scheme to have sex with Janeane Garofalo.

...Now, my favorite blogger, Tom Tomorrow, recently guested on The Majority Report. I missed the show and hope he makes it back shortly. But it also occurs to me to wonder when he'll be on The O'Franken Factor -- he may not have the biggest name in politics, but I happen to know Al Franken's a fan of his. I know this because Al Franken told me so.

See, I saw Franken give a speech last October. And then got him to sign my book. I was wearing my "Like Father, Like Son" T-shirt; Al noticed it and said, "Ah. I like Tom Tomorrow." I got my book signed, I shook his hand and told him to keep fighting the good fight. All in all, it was a pretty good weekend.

It bears noting that my roommate is the President of the Campus Republicans. (Or used to be, or something; I think there was an election in there somewhere.) Yeah, this is where you cue up the Odd Couple theme.

So okay. I'm listening to Janeane Garofalo.

And he refers to her as "Janeane Garofacunt".

I say, "Janeane Garofacunt, huh? Did you think that one up all by yourself, or did you have a team of handlers write up talking points?"

He says, "Hey, is it a bad thing if my party knows how to stay on-message?"

And I say, "It is if it means they can't possibly process anything that hasn't been scripted for them ahead of time. ...Did you see Bush's press conference the other day? Somebody asked him what his biggest mistake was in the past couple years, and he just stuttered and stammered. He's a fucking moron."

So he says, "...Oh God."

He doesn't really like Bush that much either. Which really doesn't say much for Bush.

Moving along: via Cursor, an NYT article (meaning free reg using a fake E-Mail address -- Brad and I recommend romeo7@aol.com -- required) titled Bush-Cheney 9/11 Interview Won't Be Formally Recorded. Unbefuckinglievable; this thing just gets better and better.

The President. Of the United States. Won't give a speech. On the biggest intelligence failure of this generation, if not the history of this nation. Without his VP. And even then. He won't. Let anyone. Record it.
